In December of 2007 the BC New Hope Recovery Society – the non-profit society that operates Baldy Hughes Treatment Centre & Therapeutic Community – officially opened the doors of the first therapeutic community catering to men suffering from addiction in the province of BC. Since that time over 300 men have received treatment and called Baldy Hughes home. Many of these men stayed for one full year, completed their personalized treatment program and transitioned back into the community as positive and productive citizens. These men have honoured the original vision by leaving a powerful legacy of hope, courage and inspiration to those who are following in their footsteps.

In December of 2010 the Province of BC purchased the property in order to provide stability and long-term security to the program because of the benefits to the local Prince George community and the entire province – by reducing homelessness and helping people regain their independence after struggling with addiction.

Under the agreement, the BC New Hope Recovery Society receives annual operating funding through BC Housing. It also receives support recovery funding from the Ministry of Social Development for each resident who qualifies. We also gratefully acknowledge the support received from the Province of BC in the form of gaming and capital improvement grants.

However, the support we receive from the Government must be augmented each year by fundraising and revenue generating initiatives within the community.

That’s why we need YOUR support TODAY!
