Residents at Baldy Hughes receive an opportunity to finish their secondary level schooling during their twelve-month stay here. And over the past several months several new initiatives have been launched that will enhance the educational and training experience for our residents.

Effective January 2016 all residents will have an opportunity to take three different skill-training courses during their program. As an example, a group of our residents successfully completed their Level One First Aid on Thursday, February 4th.  We have also recently started a new computer studies course. Running for six weeks on Saturday, residents will learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Office 2016 and will develop personal resumes, budgets and presentations using computers, in addition to learning new techniques utilizing Google tools and cloud computing. Finally, we are pleased to announce that our School District 57 liaison Peter Goudal is now providing tutoring sessions to our residents every weekend, as additional support for their secondary school courses.

We are thrilled that all our educational partners are able to join us in our efforts to bolster education and training at Baldy Hughes!
