Through the generosity of our benefactors and the hard work of our community members over the past few months, we are thrilled to announce the opening of our new wood shop.
The new shop will be the home of a new woodworking program, being facilitated by our Work Programs Coordinator, Matt LeBlanc.
The project began months ago with plans to convert an unused, powerless building on site into a fully functioning shop. Over the spring months, our residents and staff collaborated on preparing the space, sourcing tools, creating programs and safety protocols.
The wood shop will be an ideal complement to our farm and horticulture programs, and will certainly enhance our on-going efforts to be as self-sustaining as possible.
This new facility and program is the realization of a dream that has been in play for several years and we are grateful to our community leadership and supporters for helping to make it come true!
